STEINBICHLER names Indicate Technologies Inc. as West Coast Distributor

March 20, 2013

Indicate Technologies Inc. is appointed as distributor for Steinbichler Vision Systems, Inc. (SVS), in California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada, on January 9, 2013.

Indicate Technologies Inc, a distributor and representative of precision dimensional measurement instruments, metrology and engineering services, was founded in 2004 in Santa Clara, California.

SVS's parent company, Steinbichler Optotechnik GmbH of Neubeuern, Germany, founded in 1987, is a worldwide leading supplier of optical measuring and sensor technology as well as hardware and software solutions for the automobile, aviation and tire industries.  Steinbichler’s customers include Siemens, Audi, BMW, Airbus, Boeing, Honda, Hyundai, Michelin and Goodyear.

Steinbichler recently announced the COMET L3D, which breaks the performance and affordability barriers of older technologies.  This non-contact instrument, featuring the new Blue-LED technology, handles previously difficult reflective and transparent surfaces with higher confidence and provides high resolution data acquisition in a compact package at the lowest price point in the industry.  This combination of features opens up the applications where these instruments have traditionally been applied to include smaller, more precision parts in the industries of medical device, prosthetics, molded plastic and consumer electronics.

"The timing of the Comet L3D technology is coincident with and complements the rise in reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing (3D printing).  Steinbichler's new technology brings the capability to acquire large multi-megapixel data sets with accuracy below 10um to an affordable level," said John Hammond, President of Indicate Technologies Inc.  "We are proud to join with Steinbichler in this exciting time where these powerful tools enable shorter development cycles and enhance the creative process in product design."

"Adding this capability to our contract services will enhance our ability to serve our customers by speeding up the analysis and acceptance of parts and new molds.  In many cases, it will take the place of X-ray based Computed Tomography (CT), a less accurate, longer cycle time and more expensive process."

Oscar Meza, Steinbichler’s Sales Manager for the U.S. West and Latin America, commented, “Indicate Technologies, with over 20 years of successful experience selling services and solution technologies to the metrology market, constitutes the perfect business partner for Steinbichler Vision Systems, Inc., to continue expanding our predominance in the world markets of 3D optical measurement technologies. Steinbichler will closely cooperate with Indicate Technologies to provide our common existing and future customers with the best pre and after sales support.”
